70th Birthday celebration
Celebrated a milestone birthday this past Tuesday by doing a sky dive out of Lompoc Airport with Sky Dive Santa Barbara.
What a way to celebrate life and good health. The 60-second free fall from 13,000 feet was awesome; went very quickly! When the chute opened up at 7,500 feet, I could have spent the day floating in the blue sky observing the earth and ocean for hours. Landing was a "piece of cake!" It was soft and landed on my feet. Will bring pictures to our next VCPWN meeting.
VCPWN Book Club
For many years I have been wanting to start a VCPWN Book Club Group. I've since discarded all my research regarding the structure and development of such a group but am still interested in creating one.
Anyone interested?
The Spirit of Networking
The Spirit of Networking is a very special award that's given once a year to someone who makes a difference in our organization. Now is your opportunity to nominate the person you believe best embodies the core values of VCPWN: promoting the professional and personal growth of women through education, mutual support, and sharing of resources.
Designer's Delight Sparkles
On Sunday, February 1, Barbara Marquis and Sue Gary jointly hosted members and their guests for a “Designer’s Delight” Champagne/Dessert Fundraiser.
International Gourmet Dinner Group
About 25 years ago the VCPWN International Dinner Group took form. We have been meeting at a different private home every other month since and engaging ourselves in cooking and eating delectable foods from all over the world.
The rules have been quite flexible over the years, but primarily we enjoy authentic dishes. Traditionally, the host/hostess provides the location, dinnerware and liquid refreshments. He/she coordinates the menu so that we have a diverse meal.
