Thank You, VCPWN!

Hi everyone! I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the board and all the members for the cash gift I received this week. Beyond the money it is gratifying to know that what I do behind the scenes here on the website has not gone unnoticed.

Talk about perfect timing, too. My main system hard drive crashed (thank God for backups!), so this gift will enable a quick replacement.

Thanks again, everyone, this truly means a lot to me.

Best wishes,
Rick

New Leadership Team

Come to the June 11 general meeting for the installation of the new Leadership Team. As announced last month, the structure of the Board of Directors has changed to an executive board made up of 7 members, and committees to handle all the other jobs. The LT met for the first time on May 30 for a Team Retreat, where we got to know each other better and brainstormed ideas for growing VCPWN (Minutes of the meeting are posted on this site: http://vcpwn.org/node/24).

Life's Little Adventures

On May 14 (the day before my 70th birthday), my husband was delivering one of my 6-part polyptych art canvases on top of his van, which he thought was securely tied down, along highway 33 to the CSUCI Ventura gallery when he heard an awful sound. A gust of wind completely blew one part off into the brush and the second was smashed. He phoned me to come help him look for the missing part. From the car we found nothing. I sent him home with the remains and walked along the road for a mile or two. A stranger stopped and asked if I was alright.
